About Mom
Our Mom, (Vi Gibson), was the sweetest mom ever. She loved her
children and grandchildren. She was so proud of her family. She
and Dad were Greeters in our church in Paw Paw for years and she
hugged everyone that came through those doors, rich or poor,
young or old. She was the head of our Community Services
Division and all the local people loved her and my Dad. The
Community Service Center was open 1 day a week but she and my
Dad cared for others every day. I learned so much of true
Christianity just from observing their generosity and concern
for another's wellbeing. They really did "walk the walk."
When Mom got sick, she hated being in the hospital away from the
family. We made sure that we visited her every single day and as
a family unit because she loved it when we were all together.
Everytime we walked into her room she would proudly tell the
nurses, "This is my tribe". Thus, The Family Tribe seemed a
fitting name for this family website in memory of our beloved Mom.
About Dad
Of course our dad, (Bud Gibson), was born a full tribal member of the Pokagan Band of Potawatomi Indians so we have been a "tribe" all of our lives growing up. Through the years, we have included and expanded our Family Tribe to include many Chemokman family and friends.
We are happy you are a part of our lives and "The Family Tribe" welcomes you into our cyber circle.
On one of my last visits with my family I asked my dad to sing his favorite song for me as I recorded it on an inexpensive recording device. While the quality isn't very good, I treasure his rendition of Meeting In The Air. When I am lonesome to hear his voice, I "Click On This Image For A Special Treat".
